Roger, We will alway remember you

July 26, 2010 in Life

Roger Schmidt, We’re gathered here

To give you thanks for everything

Your nice smile, your energy

Gives us the strength to carry on

We always will remember you

And all the gifts you shared with us

Its goodbye time, we wish you well

May you be blessed in all your ways

It was an evening of praising each other in a special way and praise and thank almighty for having enabled us to carry the Assembly’s task.

It was an evening of bringing gratitude and expressing sincere appreciation for the most humble and hard work of Roger Schmidt, the Youth Secretary of LWF.  Roger has been a cool customer personality. He has led the Pre Assembly Youth Conference and the Assembly in a magnificent way. He has always been accessible for the youth. His attention to everyone’s need is something truly admirable.  He is a genuine leader who is always at service of others. And youth say:  “We are blessed to have a Lutheran youth leader like you”.  Roger in his response said: “this is  not the end but a new beginning into another commitment”.

The Youth expressed their humble gratitude also to Marine and Daniele who are the LWF Youth Staff in Geneva. They both put their heart and brain together into the preparation of PAYC and the assembly and did all ground work that needed to be done.

The Youth thanks God for their leadership in the life of the Lutheran communion.

Earlier in the evening, Rev.Dr.Ismael Noko addressed the youth in his ever loving way. He expressed his thankfulness to all the stewards for putting up all good work for making the assembly a successful one. Dr.Noko admitted that this particular assembly is the best amongst the last 5 assemblies he had attended and he acknowledged the hard work of the youth particularly of the stewards for making this assembly a special one and the best one.

He spent some lighter moment with the youth. In his brief address, he compared life with the stream of water where we try to swim upstream and negotiate with water waves, in a similar way we also do negotiate in our journey in life. YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE was his key message to the youth.
