“May He be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.”  Ps 72:6

We thank God today for the precious gift of water. The Bible talks 636 times about water, describing that it can be a a threat as well as a blessing. Today is World Water Day – see here, how is the LWF connected to it:

“Some 780 million people globally don’t have clean drinking water. Nearly 2.5 billion lack adequate sanitation.
In this World Water Day 2013 video, see how The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) works with local and international partners so that communities have quick and reliable access to fresh water. The ripple effect of this “water cooperation” in places like Ethiopia, Nepal and South Sudan means that people can support themselves and live a life in dignity.”

Several churches today celebrate World Water Day with a special liturgy, as for example from the Student Christian  Movement of India.

We do wish you a blessed, nourishing and refreshing World Water Day 2013.
