The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is open to receiving intern (ages 18-30) to work in its Geneva secretariat from February – November 2010.
The Internship Program provides an international experience to young adults so that they may be better equipped to contribute to the life and work of the church from a global perspective.
The intern will work in the following areas:
Desk for LWF Youth. The intern is going to assist in the preparation and implementation for the LWF Pre-Assembly Youth Conference in Dresden, Germany, with approximately 180 participants from all parts of the world. The areas of assistance are going to be: Content-development, development of methodology, communication esp. using a Weblog and facebook, documentation, organization of logistics. She/he will also be co-responsible for the stewards program during the LWF General Assembly in Stuttgart, Germany
The LWF covers costs for travel to and from Geneva and sufficient living expenses. In addition to the supervision by the responsible desk, the LWF Youth Desk facilitates additional learning experiences and time for personal reflection in close cooperation with the internship program of the World Council of Churches.
Successful candidates have a good working knowledge of English and have completed their basic professional training (college / university degree or a degree from a comparable institution). They understand themselves as Christians and participate actively in church life. They present a formal endorsement by a LWF member church.
