Impact

The LWF Youth desk focuses on advocacy for increased youth participation. One way to do this, is by offering programs for young people throughout the communion of the LWF. The following programs are planned for the future:

Engage: LWF Global Training for young leaders

This program has been running since 2008. Regional trainings in four continents have taken place. For information and stories from the participants, please click here.

Climate Change workshop

In April 2008 young people from Africa and from other parts of the world met in Arusha, Tanzania, in order to prepare for the LWF Council and to discuss Climate change. More information on the workshop and the people you’ll find here.

A toolkit has been developed out of it for use in your group. Please click here to find out more or download the publication right away (pdf).

LWF Youth Liaisons

In order that young people have their say in the Lutheran World Federation and get connected, every member church (or its youth organization) nominates a youth liaison. They exchange information and discuss important issues in an online consultation. More information…

Pre-Council Youth Workshops / Stewards

Between General Assemblies, the LWF Council is the main governing body of the LWF. Immediately prior to a council meeting, a Pre-Council Youth Workshops convenes to prepare the young council members and the stewards for the council meeting. Stewards are young volunteers who help with the adminstrative aspects of a council meeting and gain exposure to an ecumenical and international background.
